Instead of writing a research paper for her master's thesis, Laurie wrote, directed and edited a 35mm film on Beginning Beekeeping for the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.

Video has played an important role in Laurie's career, as a television news reporter/editor and video-based training producer and director.

​

Her first documentary is a tribute to Hunnert - who was Austin's oldest, hippest and happiest hippie. 

​

In addition to these films, Laurie has recently produced a 90-minute legacy video paying homage to a Texas family.
